The ThinkScience Academy Journey
What started as a friendly discussion with one of my friends daughter more than a
decade ago, who had reached out for Biology and chemistry quiz help, blossomed to a
community that fosters to bring out the very best in all the students and navigate with
college admissions and science help. The very first student, spreading my teaching
galore to multitude of families and ThinkScience Academy was conceived in 2011.
With Dr.Hema Bharath at the helm of things, Dedicated, compassionate, and result-driven
professional with 15+ years of experience in academic coaching, school administration,
and college advising. Executes outstanding school management performance by
providing cross-functional support and guidance to students, teachers, and stakeholders
in molding the holistic well-being of students. Dr. Bharath is a dentist by profession and
a certified College advisor with Disticntion from Columbia University. She also holds
National Board candidacy from UPenn, MBA from University of Cincinnati and Dual MS in
Oral Biology and Oral Medicine from University of Washington. With this incredible
academic background, have coached over 1000 plus students over this 15 plus years
and have placed students in top schools like Princeton, UPenn, Cornell, , University
of Chicago, MIT, Caltech to name a few. Many of my students have achieved laurels in
science contests like YBTC, Science Olympiads, Biology Olympiad, Science bowl setting
national records etc. Our goal is to bring out the best potential in your child and that is
our Promise to you ALL!
Word of mouth is my marketing secret and has worked fantastically to my advantage.
Slowly but steadily the enrollment increased with parents and students being happy with
the science classes and the results were grade transformation from Cs to As. As the
student needs expanded beyond science, ThinkScience College advising was born. This
branched out to guide students in college advising, providing them guidance on college
lists, essay writing, summer internships and the whole nine yards of college applications.
This transformation is now becoming a one stop shop for students needs and is in the
process of expanding to math, with science and college applications being the two
pillars.
We have adapted the golden standards in education and are on top of things be it syllabus
adaptation or technology adoption. We have been using online technologies like
any meeting and Zoom to cater to the students globally in various regions and time zones
even before Covid. Our teaching style is unique with practical applications on concepts
and hands on applications where possible . Concept reiteration in the form of weekly
quizzes and research questions helps students think outside the box to adapt as if there
is no box. Explore and expand is our slogan. “There are no wrong questions”. It could
be a trivial question as “why is the sky blue or the grass green” etc. But we encourage
from those questions as those questions transform to bigger challenges in the community
today from global warming to sustainability etc. Thinkscience Academy not only creates
“Thinkers” but leaders who are not only able to survive but stive in a everchanging global space.
